This is Charis Gantzoudis' first book, "First Pages", it was released for free on the internet and it is a collection of short enjoyable stories.
The first story was about a murder case; a pretty girl named Anne was the victim; she was killed by her jealous sister because Anne caught all attention from her sister during their lives. They fell in love with the same guy and she wouldn't live in her sister's shadow any more so she decided to get rid of her and accused their brother but eventually she confesses....
Alice tells her miserable experience in the second story, she was in relationship with an older man and she was forced to leave home by her father for the same reason, as a result she became a whore. She sold her body to survive but she ends up ill by lung cancer and dealing with infinite bitterness because of her damn life .
The next story was about a woman expressed her desire to kill her betraying husband.
"One journey" was the title of the next tale and could change Eleni's life head over heels; wanting to surprise her boyfriend on his birthday, which he did the same but in a different shocking way.
Another story was about Petros who lost all of his beloveds; wife son and a corny friend because of his wrong priorities..
One more tale was titled "she smiled a lot lately", it was about a desperate woman passed through dreary moments which she met a person who could bring her smile back. The last one tells a story about a man looking for pure life next to a loving wife .
The book in general deals with 9 different stories enlightening some sides of people's lives; their desires, feelings, mournings, happiness, hopes and aspirations. It was an amusing book easy to read and highly recommend for beginners.
